Edinburgh Kayak Club is a dynamic group of paddlers based in and around the capital. It has an active and growing membership that enjoys simply getting out and about on Scotland's rivers.

Our aim is to introduce and promote the sport and recreation of kayaking to people of all levels within a relaxed, friendly, and sociable atmosphere. We are affiliated to Paddle Scotland - the governing body for the sport in Scotland. The club aims to ensure equality and promote diversity as enshrined in our Constitution, Equality Policy and Development Plan.
Club members can be found on the river most weekends - the club regularly organises trips to a variety of places to suit the wide range of abilities represented amongst its members. There are even some pictures to prove it.

The club also meets one evening each week for either indoor swimming pool or outdoor pond based sessions in Edinburgh and Musselburgh where qualified instructors can help beginners or more experienced paddlers to learn and improve. The club has a range of boats and equipment for members to borrow on these events.

The club was founded as, and still predominantly is, a white water club. The majority of our trips are run on rivers, from gentle grade II upwards. Not everyone is a hard-core adrenaline junkie and our members are just as often found on the more relaxed and scenic of Scotland's rivers as on higher grade, heart pumping, white water.
