Nith Trip

Very enjoyable Improvers trip on Sunday! We paddled the Nith from Mennock to just above the gorge. The higher section was new to us all and so we spent quite a lot of time making the most of some good grade 2 rapids and one grade 3 with plenty of interest and challenge. The weather was much better than expected and we stopped for lunch at the picnic site feeling we had definitely earned it. The river was at the high end of low, having helpfully come down from very high earlier in the week. It was a very good level for the trip, not many rocks to catch us out but not too pushy either and lots of eddies to catch and waves to surf. Thanks to a fab group!
